I washed the red fabric I got at Mardens Friday -- surprisingly - it didn't run at all. I put the border on today and I hope to sandwich it on Monday.

I think there are enough red pieces in the squares to balance the red border. The wind is blowing hard this afternoon so it is really wavy

Now it will take a winter (or more) to quilt it and get it to him. He really needs to know that I'm here for him even tho I'm not nearby. He is a sort of son -- we worked together for a long time and helped me a lot when my DH died and my children lived far away.

Wow, beautiful quilt. The wind must be really blowing!

Yes, there was a very stiff breeze this afternoon. This was the "quietest" pix I took

I agree it is a gorgeous quilt top. What a lovely gift. I hope your needle glides through the layers. I am anxious to see it totally quilted

I am going to need to study it carefully to see how I want to quilt it -- I have several ideas, but I don't think it will be SITD or shadowing

I use yardsticks and masking tape laid on the top to help me get ideas when I do these.
