How many blocks are there ?

There are 12 huge blocks and a couple half ones so the pattern pieces are quite big and make it go very well.

Good luck with yours, and will be looking for updates. :)
I have three of her patterns. I don't pay any attention to her measurements as I don't use what she does. I pick my own. If you have stash you don't have to worry...Just pick out an amount that you would like in your quilt. You only need1.5 yards for the border and about the same for the background. I know it's less but to be on the safe side. Those are the only two that you would want to keep check on. The rest is scrap and color.

Oh I cut wood ornaments or whatever when I get in my painting mood lol. I have a Heigner and it cuts beautiful. I was going to try my hand at cutting out plastic templates for some of the patterns in some books instead of buying them. I got the blades already and plastic.

I will be posting a block every two days I think or as soon as they are finished. I will go ahead and just keep on joining until the quilt is finished. I am really enjoying this.

You are my hero!!! I have a pattern of hers as my wallpaper on my computer. I purchased a pattern of a different one of hers at Paducah this year. This particular quilt is on my bucket list but I might be 90 before I tackle it.

Right now I have half of Niemeyer's Bali Wedding Star cut and paper pieced and I am at my personal limit looking at this much less intricate curved piecing!

Absolutely my sentiments. That pattern scares the heck out of me, just by looking at all those parts and pieces. You ladies who have mastered this technique are truly artists extraorginary. I am in awe of your talents and patience!!!!!
