This is a small wall hanging that was inspired by the works of Irena Bluhm. I recently purchased her book Quilts of a Different Color and got to work.

You need to draw a rough outline of your vase of flowers, and fill in with free motion quilted images using a variety of thread colors. Once complete, spray with water and block your work, let dry, bind to finish then color in the images with colored pencils. Paint fabric medium over colored sections.
