    I love your quilt - especially that really interesting and beautiful backing. It looks like palm tree leaves to me - very apropos.

    By the way, how did you do that backing? Thanks.

    Well, in truth, I planned to do the backing out of the orange batik but I only had 2 yards of it. I thought about boarders in the other scraps but thought it would look choppy as I didn't have yardage of any of them so I just started slicing into the 2 yard piece, adding different pieces of some of the fabric from the front that I had left over. What I thought would be simple actually turned out to be much more difficult than I expected as I kept ending up with ever changing weird shapes - not a rectangle. Eventually when it was large enough, I cut it down to the backing size. I will do it again as I loved the result, but I may try to plan it a little this time so I don't drive myself mad.
