    CarolJ,

I don't know if the pvc would work. I would think it might not be heavy enough to anchor the material and it might roll where the flat boards stay just where you put them. You can go to: if you go to: sharonschambernetwork.com, click on classes, then free classes and finally, Basting Your Quilt, you will find the video I worked from.

I've seen the technique for basting a quilt this way, but haven't tried it yet. I'm glad that someone finds this so easy & helpful! I'll definitely have to try the next time!
    Gorgeous quilt!!!!

Loved the quilt and pillowcases!!! Thanks so much for sharing the Sharon Shambler Network website. I viewed her hand basting method about 3 times to make sure I have it. She is truely a perfectionist! Welcome to the board and thanks for sharing your work!

Beautiful. I want to try this some day. Our guild is doing a challenge quilt. We have to do some technique we've never done before. I'm doing a landscape quilt. But next year? This will be the one.

Very Nice!!! Don't you just love Sharon's basting method - a little more time consuming but the quilt turns out beautiful - no puckers on the back. I also use her method as I don't have room on the floor to baste or pin.
