    I like #1 because it looks like it's radiating outward. I would add borders too!

    I like #2 better, but they both are good. I have done several of these tube quilts and found that I liked playing with the placements when I had the blocks made.

    just as you have them displayed here in QB I like the top one. However....I can picture the second one with some really nice quilting done in a 'color' thread and possibly have every other plain square done in a different quilt pattern. I think that would be awesome....hence... I would go with the second!!!!

    Well, there are really very many options you could have with these blocks, but since you only gave us two to choose from I'm going with #1. Good luck!!!

    You might keep trying designs (there are several possibilities) and find one you are SURE is right! Very nice blocks.... lots of ways.... hmmmm.

    There is something about #1 that I love. With that said, I also agree with some of the other opinions that once you have the blocks done, there will be more options that come up.
