    This is the kind of quilt that would live on the couch and be very well loved (and used!) My dad is planning to give me a bunch of his old shirts to quilt with, I think this will be one of the patterns I try He's a big guy, so there should be enough for all his grandsons! (and parts of quilts for his granddaughters)

    You are right... I have two "shirt" quilts that live on my couches. Cozy to grab and snuggle under, even in the summer when hubby has the A/C down too cold.

    Those XXL shirts have a LOT of fabric in them. You'll be surprised at how far they go. I've also done Smoky Mtn. Stars, a churn dash, and a plaid-ish pattern out of my shirts collection:
