Crazy Quilt from neckties & other fabrics
#1
I made this several years ago for a friend for her mother for Mother's day. Her father was preacher in one of our local churches and when he passed away she ended up will all his neckties.
One of the ties that had a village scene with a church in it, so I used it as a focal point in the center of the quilt. This was constructed on a muslin base and made in nine sections and joined with over lapping pieces.
I did all the piecing, lace, bead work and finished with tying. My friend did the embroidery.
Hope you can see the detail.

wvdek, it might be that my picture is a little dark, but the border is a chocolate brown so I thought I got that about right. I was selective in what ties I did use wanting them to coordinate with the browns, tans, rust and teals I had in my scraps.
