    Default Crazy quilt pieced

Here's the quilt top I was making all those strips to build the other day. I strip pieced all the 16 block squares, made quick pinwheels from squares. It has lots of diagonally pieced borders. It was fun, and I used stash for the most of it. I only purchased a very few fat quarters for the borders, to have the jewel colors. I will set up the frames after Christmas and hand quilt it. This will be donated for my grand kids goat club auction for the county fair next summer. Yes, it kind of boggles the brain if you look at it for a while. I love that it looks like it was assembled on the diagonal, but isn't. I used a pattern from June 2005 American Patchwork and Quilting.

Wow. Beautiful and you are going to hand quilt it for a donation quilt? Amazing...do your grandkids know how blessed they are?
