    Those were REALLY popular in the 1950s They were usually croched from strips that were just torn. My Mom made one but she pressed and folded her strips so there were no ravelings. She made it like 3 or four years befor I was born (1954) It was always in front of the kitchen sink. It finealy wore out in 1980
    Oh that is interesting...mine I cut the strips and found that they did not ravel much at all ...she put alot of work and love into hers...that is nice you had it so long
