That is absolutely beautiful! I love the colours you chose. And yes, I had to study it til I found the 'mistake'! LOL Took ages but I would call it a 'design decision'! I like it in there, it's a little quirk that gives your quilt character and if I were you, I'd insist it was done intentionally if anyone ever notices! Great job!

I am assuming that this is your first time quilting, since it is your first quilt. How about just doing a stitch in the ditch to make the canoes really pop out?
Well, I have made two small table runners using the nine patch. They were OK but things didn't line up so well. This is my first "blanket" style quilt. And my first time PP. Love it!! And everything lined up perfectly due to PP. I am machine quilting and think I have decided to stitch in the ditch around the squares but add an "echo" triangle in the middle of each triangle. Maybe:)

Isn't that funny! I've been putting this top together for the last month and never noticed what I was doing. I've been looking at other crossed canoes blocks on here and never saw it in mine. After I posted the picture and stared at my computer screen, I saw it. Then checked my pattern and decided I should take a reading class! I like it though, and trust me, no one around here will ever, ever notice.

This is reall good. There have been some past issues on quilting. It's really not that hard.
