Default Crumb quilt top started in 2011 is now pieced!!!

Ta-da!!! My crumb quilt top is finally put together! It takes a while to get enough variety in crumbs to get 49 6.5" squares! I have alternated them with simple wonky blocks. FYI, the picture is really washed out. To get a better feel for the colors (sort of), look at the close-ups. The quilt measures 66" x 54". I'm only going to add a binding - no borders.

Picture 1 is the entire quilt. Picture 2 is the year I started the quilt, 2011. The third picture is the block with my initials, CH. I've included a few close-ups and some with a ruler. Look at all those small half square triangles!!! I always claim I don't do them and, to be honest, I sewed the triangles together, trimed them and didn't really pay much mind if they were prefect.

If I were to make another crumb quilt, I would make the blocks smaller. I have lots of little pieces, but not as many big. Maybe 4" squares would be more practical.

Can you tell my favorite color is blue?

Fantastic Scrappy. Thanks for the close ups. It really helps to show off the colors.

Very nice! I like the box within a box alternated with the crumb squares. Very pretty colors.

That's amazing how you can take all of those funny little pieces and make something so nice! Great job. And I don't think it needs a border either.

Great work. The colors are pretty. I have a small thing started. Don't know how it will turn out, but something I can go to when watching tv. if I don't want to be at the machine.
