Beautiful quilt both piecing and quilting. I love the motif you came up with for the plain blocks. Is this something you digitized or is it hand guided? If hand guided, did you use a template of some sort for the center motif, the pointed ovals? I can't get that kind of symmetry free hand myself. I need to mark registration lines and use a ruler template of some sort or completely premark the design then follow my marks.
