Dropped by Joanns today to see if there was anything I could use my coupons on. Got a small 60 degree ruler and some nylon fabric for some grocery bag totes...found these fabric with cute little owls on it. The colors didn't photograph very well, the owl on the bottom right is probably the closest, but still looks a little muddy. It reminds me of the late 60's, early 70's style. My DD's significant other wanted to know where I got the "old" fabric!

Cute fabric, but I won't bring that into my house. In my culture the owl is bad juju, means someone is going to die or bad things are heading one's way.

What a shame! I think of owls as representing wisdom - wise ole owl .

Sigh - another cute fabric courtesy of Joanns. It just kills me that we don't have one near! I miss Joanns!!! I keep crossing my fingers that Huntsville is considered in the future - til then I can only get there once or twice a year :(

Very very cute fabric - you found a good one there!
    Whatcha gonna make with it??

I have the same fabric with a white background. I'm planning a baby quilt with solid light green and yellow. It will be the same pattern as the Downy Quilts for Kids and will go to my church for a baby dedication.

Very interesting. I think in my culture, it has always meant wisdom.

CraftyDeb - Not quite sure what I am going to make. I had thought maybe work it into a summer bag (my youngest DD mentioned she liked some owl fabric that was posted on the board a while ago.). I think I like it because of its' retro look, kinda reminded me of my youth ;)

Lisa - I be the white background is really neat. This background is actually chocolatey brown, but didn't photograph that way.
Would love to see a pic of your quilt when completed.

I love your owls. It does look like retro fabric, but I like retro. What are you going to make out of it?
