fabricluvr,
Not a pain at all. It is just leaning up against the wall. The board is not always called "sound board", but if you tell the hardware store you want a 4x8 sheet of board that you can stick pins in, they should know what you are talking about. In our Home Depot it is all the way to the back of the lumber department, on a bottom shelf. I actually got the idea from the "Quilt in a Day" show. She covered hers with auto headliner fabric and it probably holds the blocks on much better, but I can't afford headliner material.

I am very fortunate in that when a shop was going out of business, I purchased their cutting table. My DH put large rolling balls on the bottom. It has shelves underneath for storage. AND, more important it is the correct cutting height.

I am so jealous ! I use a card table :x Works ok during the summer when I can use it on the front porch, but haven't figured out what I will do this winter. It is a pain in the butt to use during the winter. If it is small fabric I use a small wood table (use to call them TV Trays ). One of these days I will have to get organized

I have the table that they show at Joann's EXCEPT I bought it years ago when Hannocks went out of business here in PA :(. However, I belong to ASG and when we have stitch camps, we use the long cafeteria style tables there....to have them at the right height...you just get PVC pipe cut for each leg to raise it to cutting table height. My husband also cut some for one of those tables I have at home and if I need extra room to lay out a big project, I get the table and put the pipe on each leg. PVC pipe different diameters, so you only need to purchase a size to fit your table legs and then get it cut into four pieces the measurement you want to raise the table. REALLY inexpensive and quick.

Mine is 4 feet wide and 6 feet long--but the great thing about it is that you can make it any size you want----whatever fits your room and suits your needs.
Awesome cabinet - I am green with envy
