I am making this quilt using the book and template. I am at the point of sewing the blocks, and have two made. I think it is stunning. I was wondering how to make borders for it, and I see what you have done. I haven't really looked at the book to see what they recommend, if anything. I think I will do the same as you. Beautiful, beautiful!

Default This is a very expensive quilt to make

A LOT of fabric is wasted. Yes, if you want to create a table runner afterwards (as suggested in the book), you use the scrap pieces, but I can tell you I will never do that because I created the quilt for someone else, with themed fabric, and the colours (and design) don't compliment anything in my house. And also because it's a lot of trouble to make, and there are much nicer, easier and softer designs available for table runners. So be forewarned.
