Congratulations! He will really love it when he gets a little bigger and it will probably be his favorite blankie!

I loved your pattern so much, I used it for dancing bears I didn't want to cut. My dilemma now is how to quilt this since I don't FMQ. Any ideas?

Wannabee, the colors are great. I have no idea how to quilt it w/o FMQ. Sorry. Curvy diagonal lines would be my first thought.

Thanks any way. I think I figured out how to do it. I loved the pattern and have a ton of baby fabric that I really didn't want to cut. Seems there are a rash of babies coming down the pike.

By the way I loved the quilting you did on it.

My quilt varies from the pattern in that those framing strips (the rust batik) were originally as wide as the smaller squares so they lined up at the seams. I cut mine narrower so more of the fish would show. At first, the offset bothered me, but now it doesn't. I've done at least two other baby quilts with this pattern - both had more juvenile prints - one was forest friends. The quilting - spirals in the bigger blocks and helicopter wings in the small squares was quilt simple. The hardest part was deciding where to travel from block to clock.

Congratulations on the new great grandson. What a wonderful quilt to welcome him. Nice work.
