    Default deer memory quilts

I made these two quilts to honor our son who was a hunter. He passed in 2001 and left behind his two girls aged 3 and 6. Now they are all grown and made them a quilt for the winter to use on the couch in their new homes. Both just purchased their own homes.
I used the Take 5 block and lots of plaids and some homespun.

The quilts are the same and fit on top of a queen mattress. One quilt has an owl block in the upper left corner and the second one has a tree block.
Quilted, finished today and ready to gift soon.

I am sure the girls will love these quilts. I love the fussy cut deer blocks and the use of the homespun-looking plaids to make them feel rustic.
