    Default Deluxe Denim King-Size quilt!

Made a monster-of-a quilt for my sister's friend who wanted a quilt made from his old jeans. I cut 8-inch squares and laid them out in a giant Buffalo Plaid type of design. Pressed the seams open - lots of steam, starch, and sometimes my little girlie hammer to pound bulky intersections into submission, lol! Then quilted it with a diagonal "Squared" design and bound it with long strips cut from the dark leftover pieces of denim. Then I stitched on some pockets for accents.

Wrangling that quilt to get it bound and stitch on the pockets was a real workout! Flannel on the back, 80/20 batting to cushion those bulky seams, and it may be the nicest Levi quilt ever! Hope he loves it!

Thanks! He hasn't gotten it yet - my Sis will snap a picture when he does. I love it - now I know what it will take to make one for myself!

    Great Quilt!

Totally curious how many pairs of jeans were "sacrificed" for this masterpiece?
(... as I sit amazed that any guy gave up his much loved jeans,
    while they were still usable!)

Beautiful job! Did you weigh it in the end. Just curious. Bet it will wear like iron.

You did a wonderful job with this quilt! The quilting is perfect for the quilt. That had to have been hard to wrangle under a sewing machine. What a good friend you are.

Oh my. That turned out great. Tell the recipient to settle in before covering up. No moving under that quilt
