    I love your quilt. I have wanted to make one for awhile but have not really been collecting jeans. Rough estimate-how many would I need for a lap size quilt?

    depends on the size of the jeans and the square size you want.I am cutting 8 inch squares and sometimes get 4 squares and sometimes 8 squares on larger sizes.I am saving anything that will make a 5 inch square and up and the rest is going in the burn bag.

    That MUST be another new year resolution for me...have a large shopping bag of jeans just waiting to be rag quilts. Made one a few yrs ago and YES NEVER do initial was in home machine....did mine at local laundromat....three washes just to be sure.....then their dryer too
