Design It; Quilt It Project Almost DONE!
Here's a table runner I just quilted for the "Design It; Quilt It" Craftsy class by Cindy Needham. I started this class over Christmas break, and have learned so much about how design the quilting motifs to create more depth in my projects. It still needs binding, but is blocked and ready to go!
So here it is...

I've been working hard on my FMQing skills for a little over 3 years, but with this class, I feel like I'm taking it up a notch now. I'm learning how to design with "sunshine and shadows" to give the designs more depth.

Holy Moley Wendy! That is some serious eye candy. I bet the back is just as stunning as the front! Especially if you backed in something solid or reads solid. I have never taken a Craftsy class. Is it like a blog or youtube videos or what? I usually get extremely annoyed with you tube tutorials because of the buffering and delays on my very old computer. This is just amazing and really has my interest piqued on taking a class like this. Do you think a LAer would get as much out of it?

Craftsy does stream video to your computer so if your connection is really slow you might have a little trouble with it. Craftsy has some free classes you could try out and see how it works for you.
I think a lot of this class would be great for a LAer too. The first few lessons are definitely geared toward the basics of FMQ with a DSM, but when she starts talking about designs, I don't thing it really matters what kind of machine you are using. Most all the FMQing info in the first lessons was just review for me, but over-all this class was FANTASTIC! Heck, just to see some of Cindy Needhams "class samples" is worth taking the class for!

Absolutely stunning FMQ! Gorgeous! You have done a fantabulous job on your lovely top. I hope one day to be able to do FMQ-ing. I have done some amateur FMQ but I intend to work on my skills this year. Thank you for sharing as it is such an inspiration.
