This is a picture of my oldest granddaughter, Jaelynn, who I am teaching to sew. We made this doll quilt together for her cousin who is moving to Hawaii. Jaelynn went shopping in "Nanna's Quilt Shop" and picked out the fabric. Jaelynn sewed the squares together in rows and I sewed the rows together. I showed her how to sandwich it and pin it and she tied the quilt. We made the backing big enough to bring it around to the front and I sewed it down which completed it. She's so proud! I'm so proud of her! :D

Oh she is adorable. She did a great job and how thoughtful of her to make a doll quilt for her cousin. Move over Nanna, looks like there's an up and coming quilter in the family!

That's terrific. I can't wait to teach my granddaughter to sew. I'm hoping she's going to be interested. She already likes a lot of crafts.

Jaelynn, You go, girlfriend!!! That's a beautiful first quilt. Can I come shopping in Nanna's Quilt Shop? You did a great job of picking fabric and sewing them together, not to mention the tying.

Lovely doll quilt and gift. Also great that you are teaching a young one to do quilting.
