DH flannel quilt
Hello everyone. Last Oct or Nov, I asked for advice on making a flannel quilt. I had never sewn with flannel before, and you guys gave me lots of great information. Well, I've finally finished it for him (just in time for spring!) and I thought you might want to see the results.
I pieced and quilted it on my vintage Viking 6570 whose photo I simply cannot upload for some reason. At any rate, I decided to keep the quilting simple, mainly because it's fairly big, so I went with SID vertically. In the center of the 6" blocks, I did a graceful serpentine stitch for variety. The border got two rows of straight stitching but I tried something new for the binding. Since I already had a serpentine stitch in the body, I went with a smaller serpentine on the binding to echo the body. It turned out pretty well. Hubby says he likes the "color palette", so I guess he has been listening!

Thanks for all the kind words, folks. I couldn't have done it without you! And to be fair, DH chose the colors ... except for the cream. He wanted all darks, but I had to lighten it up a bit. Still, all in all, it turned out well, and he is as snug as a bug in a rug.
