DH goes from oiling to sewing
#41
That is wonderful. My husband had an uncle who bought a Singer while in the navy and earned extra money hemming pants and doing repairs and alterations for the other guys. He continued to sew throughout his whole life, and he and his wife had another kitchen in their basement where they did canning and stuff. He was a real gem.

In quilting you end up with a finished product. In so much work for money the person does a part of the job, and the job is passed on to the next person. So the quilt is a one person, finished product....as cheerful as can be. In addition, he is happy at home, not restless.

I think it's wonderful that your DH is so involved in his and your "hobby". Frankly, I don't want my DH to know too much about the quilts I make. First of all, I like that he thinks they are way more complicated to do than they really are (and I like his compliments), and second of all (if not more important than the first reason), he might do a BETTER job than I do...LOL.
Who says they can't be trained?? :)
