Show him some of Ricky Tims' Cave Man quilting and you won't stop him! The two guys in our quilting group add a bit of fresh air to the mix. One of them makes all of the furnishings in his house whilst his wife does the cooking and the gardening. The other is very dynamic and theatrical and has unusually nice colour combinations.

Congratulations! You don't have to defend the LQS runs anymore! Woohoot!
There are many male quilters. He'll do great!

My plan for my hub is to take up housecleaning and dishes so I can quilt!

My DH learned how to make quilts from me a couple of years ago. He is a wood worker, so says it just feels natural to cut up something big and put it together in another form. He does beautiful quilts. He's on this board as Papa John. We like working in the sewing room together. We both work, so it's quality time, which we don't get much of.

Your DH did a beautiful job with his first quilt, its looks lots better than my first one did! I love all the bright colors that he used. :D

Can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

I wish I could get my DH to quilt.

I just loved your post. My DH is doing the same thing. He is making his first quilt and is doing a great job. He is drawn to completely different things than I am so it makes it fun to see where he is going. I got a new sewing machine last year and now he is saying he might be needing his own soon too. I guess the secret is out. Quilting is fun!

I guess there's good news and bad news. Yes, he shops for fabric with me (and shares the cost), but now he knows all my hiding places. Maybe I'd better start searching the nooks and crannies in the garage.

Tell DH he did a great job. Like someone else said, he is just constructing with a sewing machine now. Keep up the good work. Love his smile, just shows how proud he is of himself as he should be! Thanks for giving us another quilter. Will be anxiously awaiting a picture of his next one.
