    Default DH the Wolfman

I bought several of the Hoffman "Call of the Wild" panels, intending them for donation quilts to the VA. There's an elk, a bear, some wolves, etc. When I showed them to DH, he glommed onto the wolves and said "This one's mine. You never made Me a quilt!"

Several hours of work on EQ7 followed, and this is what we came up with.

I've been dyeing fabric for the last couple of weeks, and I *think* I've got it all cut out now. On to piecing!

It's been quite an adventure so far. I couldn't find the Fabrics that I wanted locally, because I needed three different shades of teal that would go with the center panel. So I contacted the nice people at Dharmatradingcompany.com and asked them for help. I sent them a link to the panel and asked which of their dyes did they think would match the blue-greens in the lower right corner? Teal? Navy? A very nice lady emailed back and suggested that I would probably want the teal. So I ordered it and an amber-gold that I wanted and started dyeing test pieces, a full gradation run for each of them. The teal is an almost perfect match for the panel.

So if you're thinking about trying to dye your own fabrics, give them a try. I've never been anything but pleased with their products and service.
