Digital panel
I purchased this digital panel last fall for a friend who loves purple. I learned a lot, mostly the hard way. I used a velour or velvety fabric, which created a lot of drag. I knew it and stubbornly did it anyway, which made it way harder than it should have. I outlined the petals, did threadpainting and used metallic thread in center. The metallic thread was a real challenge because the backing was too heavy. There is some free motion quilting in outer part. I was lucky to find some ombré fabric for border that matches perfectly. The digital part of this makes the flower look realistic and even seems to glow, it also makes for a huge panel that is 51 inches across. The person I gave this to was over the moon with joy.

Here are two links. One to a fabric store that gives a brief write up about it and one to Hoffman showing the digital prints they currently have available.
