Finally got this finished. There's a lot I would do differently if I ever do another one, but she loves it and can hardly wait to take it to the games in January and wrap up in it!

    Here's the finished quilt

This will certainly be the center of interest at the games. Your DIL must be very happy with this.

Sorry that second one is so blurry! She wanted a high loft batting, so it is puffy. Both of the girls play softball..one in H.S. and the other for Tarleton State in Stephenville, TX.

Can you give some hints on what you'd do different? I have a few of these to make and have an idea....but would love to hear your thoughts.. =)

Gorgeous! I like the double sashing/border look.

I'd appreciate some pointers as well - plan to make one for a cousin - have never attempted anything like this : I love the stripped border!

I did a lot of dumb things! Instead of the small border, I would do a two-color binding and do it all by machine. I would NOT use a high loft batting. I would not try to do part of it on the long arm and part on my DSM. And there are several other boo boo's I'm too embarressed to mention! Most of the mistakes will never be noticed (black hides a lot, LOL!).

My son said, "Mom, when those mothers see that quilt they will want you to make one for them!" I told him I wasn't taking orders. He said, "When they ask how much you charge I'll tell them $1000....would you make one for that?" I said if someone was dumb enough to pay $1000 for one, I'd consider it! LOL!
