I would stitch in the ditch all the straight seam lines first. I would then go over to Leah Day's site and pick a FMQ design for each block. Whatever you decide will be great because it's an awesome top!

First, let me say your quilt is beautiful. I would pick a line(ie top left of large and small blocks) and do a simple straight stitch, going in both directions, creating diamonds(cross hatching). Your quilt is already geometric, and the rule of thumb is for quilting curves for geometrics ( I think), but your quilt is already beautiful, I think the simpler the quilting, the better. JMHO! Another idea popped to mind as I was proof reading what I had wrote... curved cross hatching.

I spelled Jinny's first name incorrectly. Sorry.

BTW: this quilt top is done completely by hand, even the boarders.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've got a lot to think about!

I am thinking this is a task blue painters tape could really help out. I would use the tape to do interesting angle play in the quilting( particularly in the borders) . One of the great benifits of painters tape is you can keep repositioning , before you use it as a quide for quilting.
