It will be 9 squares when all sewn together. Then you cut apart through the center (top to bottom) and then you cut apart through the center, the other way (side to side). Then arrange them the way you like. (the very center square, after you cut them, will become 4 little squares). That little square on each block....you can arrange them so that the little block is in the same position on each block you set into the quilt ......or you can turn them different ways for a different look. I love it. Hope this helps you. If you need more help let me know. NOW.....how did you cut the D4P?? LOL thanks, Sandrea
I started more yesterday (too windy outside) and remembered we talked about this! Sew four squares together. Then use a small cutting mat to cut because you'll need to turn the block without having pieces move. Measure 1" from the center line and cut the length of the 4 patch. Turn the mat 1/4 turn, measure 1" from center and cut again. Continue until you have made the four cuts. Don't let any pieces move. Now turn each center piece on the outside rows--it's two skinny rectangles. Just switch it so it's turned the other way. Then sew everything back together! **How far you cut from the line is your choice--just do it the same for all four cuts. I chose 1" because my blocks are 4". If using charms, I might try 1.5". Let me know if you have questions!
