Discouraged beginner

Its beautiful and I feel sorry for you, don't get discouraged.. which is easy to do... I never sew my binding at a corner, always in the middle some where, that is the hardest place... Take it out a little add some to the other piece and try meeting in the middle... Good luck..

Hi...I think you have done an awesome job so far, so don't feel discouraged. I also am a new quilter after sewing for 40+ years and am still learning. I see others have already told you how to go about the binding so I don't need to add anything. Don't forget to post a pic when you've finished :)

I just bought a binding tool to help with that kind of stuff.
It was only $6 at my local quilt shop and it does several angles. http://www.animasquilts.com/AQPtools1.html
There are a few tutorials online hon how to use it as well. I'm looking forward to using it next week. I'm going to make a bunch of not square things and try it out :)
Maybe something like that will help out.

I would take it loose down to the middle of one side then cut it off about 3" or so from the stitching. Attach that at the pointy end then sew it on from the point to the middle. Attach it at the middle of the long edge.
