I can see how it would be made...I don't think it would be that hard to graph out. It's a square in a square, the same size as the nine patch in the setting strips.

I have EQ7 and love to play around with it. I made the block as a single entity, knowing that it would have to sewn as a 9 patch to be put together for the complete block. It is a variation of Square in a Square, Rail Fence and 9 patch. I drew the block as an 18 in square, which makes each part of the block a finished 6 inch square. I could have drawn the square in a square with HST's which would make it easier to piece, but wouldn't look so good. Enjoy. I'll post the block itself in a separate posting.

The block used in the quilt I posted is the first one. The easier way to do square in a square is the second pic. Hope this helps someone out. I did a one inch sashing with 1 inch cornerstones in the sashing. For the border, I used 6 inch, but it could be what you wanted. Enjoy.
Edited to add: Sorry about the pictures being so big. I'm going to work on how to make them smaller.

It's a pretty design. Nice job laying out the pattern for everyone.
How would it work to extend the triangles into the white center square? Another method might be to applique the white center square to avoid the Y seams that would be caused by piecing the original design. I think the mitered corners add too much to the design to get rid of them.

All it is, is a 3 rail fence block. 9 patch and spool block

I am pretty new to quilting, but have read a lot here, lol. Could you sew a colored strip and a white one together and then cut out a triangle shape? I know you would end up with an equal amount of opposite colored triangles, but you could always use them in another quilt. Win, win.
