You are doing some amazing embellishing work!! How do you like working with varigated threads? I have alot of them, but havent' used many. I have an Autumn theme quilt I am hoping to layer soon and start machine quilting, and I was thinkingof using those threads in it. I have 26 different fabrics in it, so I think it might work okay.

You are doing an incredible job for your first quilt! You have certainly inspired me with your embellishing ideas!! you got me doing some thinking now :)

Glad I am inspiring you Aggi, its good to spread it around, thats how I got the confidence, little by little to experiment on each block, you can see my first blocks are very basic and classic and as my confidence grew so did the detail in the blocks, I was going to hand quilt alot of the blocks, but I am itching to get it finished now, and having bought this machine, it seems silly not to use it to its full potential...and the time saved is a blessing, the sooner I finished this one....the sooner I can get started on the next project!!

You were asking about the variegated threads, this is the first thing I have done any sewing with them!! My first reaction was it has to be symetrical, but I have lightened up and now can appreciated the random effects!!

What do you think of my assistant - look how sulky her face is when I caught her having a sneaky nap on my quilt while I went to 'spend a penny' lol!!

ooh your pooch is too cute for words and looks rather cozy on your quilt. Your assistant sounds like my little girl, Missy. She needs to nap test on every quilt before anyone else gets to use it!!

Missy is sooo cute toooo!! I feel really mean most evenings as I am handing stitching all the thread tails into my quilt, so I come through to the lounge and Sasha makes a beeline straight up on it - she may be little but she sure is heavy and the dirty looks I get when I have to move her so I can get to the next tail......well the first picture says it all!!!! :?

Many thanks for all your lovely comments, you are all so generous with your compliments I feel humbled.
    Glad you are back on-line!

I can't wait to see your first quilt. How exciting!! Make sure to take lots of pictures. I still kick myself that I didn't take any pictures of my quilts the first few years I made them. And since I gave everything away and many of them now belong to my Ex's family, I am unable to get any photos. :( Definitely learn from my mistake and take pictures! Of course that would kind of be a duh! wouldn't it? I mean, since you have to take a picture in order to post it here. Can you tell I've pulled just about an all-nighter to finish my UFO for my local guild meeting tonight? The things I'll do to avoid paying the $5 fine for not finishing. :P

Well a girl made from the same mold as me!! My dh just doesn't understand how you get into the 'zone' and sleep is such a waste of time!

Hope your guild appreciate your dedication!! : :D

    Izy:
Your quilt is gorgeous and so is your pupper. Aggi, I like your baby kitty, too. I think all animals must be alike...mine are on the quilts every chance they get, too.
