It was a sad day when I found a bird dangling by his leg by a thread one day in my back yard. It was a hot day and I noticed the bird hanging upside down and fighting to get loose.I was able to hold him and cut the thread loose from his leg. So,I would not recommend using the threads.

I used to put out bits of thread for the birds, then I read somewhere that it was not a good idea. The birds put the threads and scraps in their nests and it draws attention from their preditors...making them easier to find. Maybe dark colors wouldn't be so bad.

What a fabulous idea! I save dryer lint for the birds, now they can have another option. Its kind of like Home Depot for birds!
