My Hubby made me a tall cutting table out of some wood laying around the house. My table measures 30"x60". I needed to put something on the top too so I wouldn't mess up my cutting mat. Went to Wal-Mart and picked up a roll of contact paper. Looks like a cheap version of granit countertop. Have had no problems with it peeling. The only other thing I did was use 2 small pieces of sticky velcro on each corner of my mat closest to me to keep the mat from slipping. Worked out great.
