You have very nice work for your Church sale. How did you determin how big to make the dolly quilts?

I have a baby quilt, picked up a dolly and have been wondering how big I need to make for the 8 in high baby doll. Thought the Big sis could cover her new "baby" as mommy covers her baby sister.

These are so nice, I wonder if you get some who will just like to have a small quilt on the wall?

Very cute! They're all adorable. I love making small quilts. I get to practice techniques and it doesn't take much time or fabric!

Thanks everyone. I have enjoyed them tremendously. The first four or five, I made 12 x 15 inches or so, and when I showed them to some other ladies who quilt, they thought they were cute and everything, but one lady made mention that her grand daughter's doll would not fit under them and so I have made all the rest 16 1/2 x 20 allowing for a bit larger doll to lay under them. The great thing, as with most quilts that utilize squares, is that you can make the squares any size you like. I made mine 2 1/2 inches. It takes very little fabric. They are so easy to handle. I have machine quilted quite a few. It goes so fast I think I shall have many more done by November.

Note to gcathie: When you get some made, you KNOW that I will want to see pictures......

Note to Chairjogger: That is possible. Maybe someone will want me to make them a quilt and I could make a few dollars....

Those are so adorable. I love the colors you used. That is very sweet of you to do that for your church.

My sister still has the dolly quilt my grandma made her some 40 years ago. It was out of purple and lavender flannel. Gives me an idea for our church bazaar. thanks for posting

They sure are pretty, but I have a dumb question; what is a dolly quilt? Is it a quilt for dolls?

What adorable little quilts. I know your church will appreciate your donation-they will make a lot of money from all of your efforts!

Thanks. I am glad to inspire someone else. I hope you are able to make several for your church also.

To sewnsewer2: Yes they are for little girls to play with their dolls. I hope they bring in some dough for our little church.
