    Don, check the template for the ring centers, if it fits the arcs on the outside, you could cut it in half and end up with a border you can square up. Don't know if that will work, but you could take a peak and try it with muslin to see how it works

    I wonder if you could use the center piece on the edges, but cut it straight so they are even with the outside ring or maybe some extra so you could add the finishing strip.

    would applique work for putting borders on to make it straight on the edges. That way no math no figuring what goes where.. Well it was just an idea.

    That's really beautiful, Don. It never would have occured to me to use the tan as background, but it works well. And your piecing is so precise. Great job!
