It looks like it's on it's way to another beauty when it's done. I don't know how you keep your fingers from getting sore with all the hand quilting you do. I learned to hand quilt from my mother and grandmother, but my fingertips used to get so raw I don't even hand quilt baby quilts. I definitely appreciate those of you who do it.

You mention using tshirt stablizer. Tell me why you used that. Is it to strengthen the older fabrics? Is it difficult to hand quilt through? This is a new idea to me. Love working on those old treasures myself and knowing that my hands are where another placed stitches.

Lovely old quilt. It is worthy of your time and you are doing a beautiful job on it. Your stitches are lovely too. Keep up the good work and please be sure to send us a photo of your finished project. They will be lucky to have it and they are lucky to have you.

If anyone can rise to the occasion, it's you Don. Whenever I see a picture posted by you I must look. I enjoy seeing your work. You really are talented. Isn't Ed lucky to have found those blocks and to have you make them into a quilt?

Love seeing your projects and the wonderful work you do, Don! We are blessed to have you as a member of this board and I also always look forward to seeing your posts.
I love those stars and am happy to see that you are preserving them for the future generations in a special hand-sewn quilt!
Great job!!
