    So sorry! I have never heard of a washing machine doing that. I remember seeing Alfred Hitchcock's movie The Birds. I went home and didn't trust my parakeet for a week. Now I feel that way about my washing machine, LOL. I hope those are the only spots that are torn, and I agree with others that you can fix it so that no one will notice, but still, it's a shame that you will be fixing your brand new gorgeous quilt rather than just enjoying it.

    I'm so sorry that happened to you and your new quilt I know I would be so upset and trying to think of how I could repair it w/o it showing at least it's the back. Good Luck. Sue

    Oh Lisa, that just makes me sick. I know what a lot of work went into Bonnie's CS. How many places are damaged? I think on the front I would applique exactly the same fabric on the block, on the back I might mimic the flower motif. I know all of us that read this will live in terror next time we put one of our quilts in our home machine. Truly sorry.

    what you come up with is going to be gorgeous! i know you can fix it just beautifully! i have a front loader machine and last week i washed some fabric and noticed a couple of tears in it as well. i have NO idea where they could have come from! please let us know what you did!
