I feel your pain, Lisa. The last quilt that my MIL made for me was chewed on by my Great Pyrenees. Luckily he only made a hole in the backing and since my MIL didn't put labels on her quilts, I made one and put over the hole. None to the wiser!!!!

Wonderful quilt-sorry this happened to you and I hope you find a solution to fix this. I got nothing for you. I might be in tears if this were mine.
While a torn quilt is not what you wanted to happen, I am not so sure a horrid screeching sound from a washer is a minor detail either. Hopefully this is a minor fix too.

Oh dear....well, dry your eyes, still that trembling lip and applique your troubles away. So sorry this happened to you. Was it perhaps an errant basting safety pin? Hope you get to the root of the problem and it's not a big fix. Looks like a beauty of a quilt. Let us know how you get on.

I owned a Laundromat 25 years ago before the new "tumble" style machines were made for the public. I knew then that tumbling fabric items got them clean without beating them up. I've owned one since. Clothes and precious quilts and my bedspreads last so much longer. I'm so sorry your quilt got beat up.

OH that is so awful. I agree with someone above I would applique a new triangle right over the top of the damaged one. I am almost positive I have some of the backing fabric in my stash if you need some. Message me if you need it.

Oh that is scary hon. I usually soak mine. I may agitate a couple of minutes and then spin out. fill again, soak, agitate two minutes and spin out. done. (my regular washing the other day had a pair of slacks stuck under the agitator though!!).
