You also can join all the various width strips with knots, wind into balls, and then use them just like yarn and either knit or crochet all sorts of things. Scarves, runners, rag rugs, candle mats - whatever!

I have several of these balls, but mine are strips of old quilts (batting and all) wrapped into a ball. I have them laying around my sewing room. Some in glass container, some stacked in sewing machine drawer thats hanging on the wall. Good conversation pieces....

Not crazy and definitely not wasteful! The balls are cute and very colorful. You should do some little ones. They'd make cute Christmas ornaments. Use your regular scraps for the base and Christmas fabric for the top layer. I have a little tree for my sewing room so I think I'll try this out. :P

Okay, this is almost too much! Those are so cute they're almost irresistible - find a market!!!
As tempting as it is, and as cute as they are.......if I tried everything I see on this board, I'd be classified as a hoarder just collecting supplies. I truly admire those of you who create these "leftovers" projects.

Yep, you're a little crazy, just like the rest of us in the quilting world! You know tha old saying, "Quilters are nuts: they take a perfectly good piece of material, cut it up into little pieces and sew it back together!" LOL!
I save my little trim pieces to place on my front porch in spring for the birds to use as nesting material
