I attached 3 panels to my slider with velcro and put another strip of sticky have to a nearby wall. When I remove a panel from the doorway I can put it on the wall. Have made quilts to fit other windows, attached the sleeve and use a tension rod to fit. They can be swapped out easily with seasonal quilts.

That's really pretty I like it. But I was wondering where did you get the parrot material. I have been looking for some material with parrots on it and I just can't seem to find some with the parrots as big and bright as that. There was a lady at a LQS who had made a quilt with some beautiful ones on it I had asked her if she would give me the shops name . she did but I tried looking it up on the site she gave me and to no avail couldn't find it. I'd appreciate it if you could give me info on your material. PM me . Thank you.

Love your "green" thinking. I've been considering a similar move using that batting with the foil in it- the name escapes me at the moment- for my extrememly hot SE and SW Windows. My door is shaded by the porch, but boy, upstairs the heat moves in like crazy. Only I think I will be lazier than you and just cover it all with a decor fabric instead of patching anything. Love the velcro easy up, easy down idea too. Thanks for sharing!

I think you need to make matching curtains, along with a matching lamp shade!! That is adorable!!
    Very creative!

I am making a window shade for the window next to it. Today I am making Orange Marmalade and Bread so I am going to have a later start on it.

Here is a pic of the sun shinning through it. It looks like stained glass.
