Default Double Irish Chain Quilt recently finished

After an elderly friend of mine recently gave me all of her fabric stash, I made her this quilt. It should have been a very easy and uncomplicated quilt. But, no I had to go and experiment. LOL. First off, I planned this magnificent free motion machine embroidery pattern. That took quite a bit of time and waste! After viewing various other quilts of this design, I realized that I had overdone galore. So, I ended up only doing the center area. During the entire process of creating this quilt all sorts of life got in the way. I had actually typed out the scenerio and realized, this is going to be a book. LOL. So deleted. Whew, I know all of you are as relieved as I am.

Oh yeah back to the quilt. With all of lifes slam balls being thrown at me. When I finally reached the point of quilting it, I thought no more could go wrong. Boy, this quilt did everything in its power to humiliate me. It deserves the few straight lines (if I can even call them that) of quilting. Finished with a very simple binding and dellivered to her. She loved it and kept telling me, I do not see any mistakes at all. This from a woman who made and created some of the most beautiful quilts!!! So we laughed and compared stories and had a wonderful visit.

Love those color and your work. I'm glad you stuck with it and didn't let the quilt "win".

It may have been a war to finish it, but you definitely conquered it in the end. Love the embroidery you added to it. It seems like life always gets in the way of the things we plan to do.
