Double Wedding Ring, Seven Sisters, and Crazy Blocks

I'm 46, and have been collecting fabric for 20 yrs, plus mom gave me her stash. Compared to some I've a small stash but to others large. Both grandparents lived into their 80 and 90's, but lived healthier lifestyles than I have in my past. My parents are still alive and in there early 70's with health issues. So I might have a good 25-35 years left in me. In my quest to rid myself of stash and the fabric diet, I can't stop buying the super great deals or the occasional OMG! fabric bundle. A girl can go on a diet but she can't stop eating all together now can she? Mr. Sweety tells me to sell it....what on Earth is wrong with that man? How about he sell his tools and scrap lumber, steal, and lets not forget the fishing stuff. I know I'll never use it all but its good to have a goal. You got to know where you're going or you'll never get there.

Well, in the first place, I totally "get it". For me, the size of my stash is starting to create an element of anxiety. I am 62 and a fairly prolific quilter, but I am also a prolific purchaser (I do need a 12 step program regarding this). I am feeling a strong need (read I am so embarrassed to have so much fabric and need to prove to someone(?) that it was not a craziness that created this enormous collection of fabric, nor was it some ridiculous waste of my money). Essentially you are doing a beautifully fabulous job of accomplishing my goal. This post proves that with some creative thinking on my part, I can start using up my stash. Seriously, every time I look at it, I start mentally calculating how many quilts a year I need to produce to use it up verses how many years can I reasonably expect to live. I hate to sound morbid, but... Thanks for your inspiration!

I love all 3 of them. But just a note - most charities don't like them tied prefer them machine quilted. Instead of tying them, do simple straight stitching - x's in the blocks, or in the ditch. They don't have to have a lot of quilting on them.
