My quilt guild was contacted by Linda Arye, the founder of Quilts for Kids, to find some quilters that would like to participate in the filming of a documentary in Houston. Yesterday, around 10 members of West Houston Quilt Guild and 10 members of Tri County Quilt Guild gathered at Quiltworks, LQS in Cypress, to make quilts. I was told that parts of the filming will appear on YouTube, the Downy site and Quilts for Kids site. They also went to a home or two and filmed some FMQ on two quilts that will be presented to children in a filming on Saturday in a Houston hospital. I took some pictures around lunch time and at the end. I didn't want to get in the way of the film crew. I mentioned this message board to Linda Arye and her staff. They looked it up on a laptop and were thrilled that the word is getting out and so many are willing to participate.
I am attaching some pictures and a few suggestions that they made.

If you get a message that says You don't qualify, make sure that you have filled in all blanks that are required.
If you have a group of people that want a kit, order them all together to save postage. Just list each person that will receive a kit.
Put lots of quilting in your quilt to help survive multiple washings and zig zag down the binding.

I'm so happy, I got my kit this afternoon and plan to start on it on Monday. It looks like a variation of MoodyKim's package. So colorful and cheery.
