My kit came a couple of days ago and I am working on it this afternoon. The fabric is adorable and bright and having it cut and ready to go is so nice. I have similar fabric and plan to do another quilt to send back with it. What a pleasure to be able to help such a great cause. Thanks for sharing the info.

I don't machine quilt very well, either, but I figure these kids aren't going to be really picky. AND the way I see it, the practice will only make me better. Besides, I'm sure there are machine quilters out there that will quilt free or at a discount. Come on everyone, these kids need us!!! This is something all of us can do :!: :!: : :) :)

Adorable! Are you going to quilt it yourself? I am looking forward to doing some machine quilting on the ones I make. Must take the regular size quilts to a LA quilter.

I finished 2 quilts (1 kit, 1 my own fabric). They are very quick and easy. I got distracted while working on them and sewed the borders in the wrong order, so I ran short. I had extra from the squares, so I put that in the corners. I like how they came out. I used my own binding and decorative stitching on the binding. I usually handstitch the binding, so this was a first. I do like the look though, and will likely do it more often. I forgot to get closeups of that, but here are the quilts. I plan to do more, but will probably have to wait until after Christmas.

    Made from my stash.
