I just ordered my first kit. Thanks for providing this information. The quilt gallery on their website features some really wonderful patterns made with great fabric. This is such a worthwhile project and a great way to help us practice our skills too. They do require machine quilting so anyone who is hesitant because they have never tried FMQ before, just think of how forgiving children are and stop worrying that it won't be perfect. The kids will just be so happy to see the bright and cheery colors they surely won't mind a bit if a few stitches meander a bit too far one way or the other. I'm excited that so many of us are getting involved...come on, everyone, sign up for a kit!

The kit I got the first time was an easy pattern, a four-patch. I just stitched in the ditch for that one. The other one I sent in, I used the same 4-patch pattern, and quilted it with diagonal lines (I'm new to fmq, and my machine was acting up, so I used my granddaughter's machine to finish up the quilting on that second quilt).

Purple Passion: Yes, we are so lucky to have a beautiful area inwhich to live and we call it the "banana belt" as we get snow and cold but it doesn't last long and mostly our weather is wonderful. Our view from our deck is spectacular...orchards for as far as you can see and one gorgeous snowcapped mountain...we use to have 2 mountains to view but in 1980 Mt. St. Helens blew it's top so we can't see it anymore...we miss seeing it.
