    Hi, Love your quilt. Have a question, I noticed your layers rolled on wood; is that something special to sandwich the layers? Would you be so kind as to explain this to me. Greatly appreciated; lots to learn;

    Oh dear, I hope it was doing the quilt that was dreaded, and not the baby! LOL Seriously, it's a lovely quilt and will be much loved.

    This is the link for Sharon Schambers tutorial on her basting method. As she just won her 3rd best in show at the Houston quilt Festival - it seems we could all learn a trick or two from her. Hope this is helpful for you!

    No - LOL the baby was not dreaded!! It was quilting this lovely little quilt that gave me fits. I had started quite a bit of it when I realized it was bunching all over the back. Not a problem I usually have - so I didn't check soon enough. I spent over 2 hours rippiong stitches and then several days dreading the quilt before I got brave enough to head back to the machine.

    Thank you so very much this looks almost fool-proof (for me anyway). I don't do large quilts and this would be great to do. Thanks again.

    Why was the flannel back such a problem?

    Very pretty quilt. I just finished a baby quilt backed with flannel. I was worried about it, but it was actually easy. I just did SID though - maybe that's the difference. - Cynthia
