Default Is this a dream or what?

I was talking with a friend recently, and she asked if I could use some 2 1/2 inch squares that she had cut for her Mom, who never got them sewn up. I said that I could always use material, and all cut is even better. So, she dropped them off last week, and this is what I got. 3 tubs, 16x24x6 deep and 2 tubs 12x16x6 deep. 1 large and 1 small tub had the cut up squares, and the rest were yardages of material. I can't even begin to guess how many yards of material that she gave me. I am so lucky. I won't try to explain each picture, they just speak for themselves.

And the above picture is an example of what I am doing with some of the squares. I counted out how many I would need of each color and am using the idea of a bargello and will take the colors down a couple more strips and then take them up. I am liking how it looks so far.

What a wonderful gift from a dear quilting lady who probably loved her fabrics as much as we do. She probably had tons of ideas for her squares! I'm glad your friend gave them to you instead of just throwing them away! Your bargello will be lovely! Can't wait to see it and I'm sure if the quilting lady could see it, she would think so too!

You're off to a great start!

And you just gave me an idea for a ton of assorted blue squares I inherited a few years back.

Ditto. I am just thinking about all the fun you will have with this treasure. Do you plan to make your friend something out of this prize? Take care and have a great time. BrendaK
