Yes, I make faces when I'm quilting.
Yes, different shapes look better in one direction than in the other (even Kimmy Bruner says she has problems with feathers on the INSIDE of the wreath and when she is at a certain place in the curve).

Your mom is going to love that quilt for her 100th birthday. Way to go MOM. Classic design with a wonderful flair. As for quilting, always seems easier in one direction, even on a long arm. When I quilted on my machine, my DH used to tell me I held my mouth funny too.... it must be something in their air. LOL. Great job.

What a joy to have a mom who is 100! That is really special and you are marking the day with a spectacular quilt. I love the color combination and the modern take on an time tried pattern. Have a great celebration.
